Reflections on ‘Sonic Experimentalism’

Abstract

As an art piece, the work is compelling. Dark, complex textures shift between polarities of organisation, stasis, randomness, and fluidity. The sound world is highly detailed, placing human voices and recorded ambiences in juxtaposition with carefully designed synthetic underpinnings. Mechanical elements, rhythms are placed in dialogue with tangible elements of humanity. The work is well produced and technically accomplished. It's a great listening experience on headphones, I've noticed.
